W. Clare Tobler - Summer 2014

We are proud to bestow this quarters’ Unsung Hero Award to Mr. “T” – not the actor with a mohawk, but General Lee – not the real General but our honoree has filled that role since starting the 5th Grade Civil War Re-enactment. We are, of course, talking about Mr. W. Clare Tobler – a beloved teacher that holds a spot in the Teachers Hall of Fame for his unprecedented commitment to children and education. Additionally, Mr. Tobler started The Great American Award – now a nation-wide program.

Mr. Tobler did not stop his commitment to serve others in the classroom – he has organized a bluegrass band, Ever Wednesday, which performs for the residents of The Homestead, local churches and other civic organizations. He is an avid Boy Scout volunteer, a proud dad, grandfather, husband and active member of his church where he has served in many roles. It is with great pleasure we recognize W. Clare Tobler as our Unsung Hero!
