About Friends of Boulder City Police Department
The Friends of Boulder City Police Department, incorporated in December 2009, is a group of community-minded individuals that are committed to assisting those men and women working at the police department, in addition to assisting the police department accomplish its mission. We facilitate this goal through fund raising and volunteering at local police department sponsored events. Our two main fund-raising campaigns are the ongoing "Care to Give" advertising campaign and the CSI Dinner and sleuthing event, due to debut in October 2012.
We utilize all funds raised in assisting members of the police department. Some examples of funding expenditures are raising awareness of the police department through our on-going "Care to Give" advertising campaign, scholarships to staff members, purchasing car seats for the City of Boulder City Tiny Tots program and catering in meals during department in-service training. We also recently purchased a recognition plaque for a 10 year police volunteer.
A couple of our goals, in addition to providing support for the police department, is the establishment of a library of law enforcement related materials and books, which have been deemed important to the advancement and education of law enforcement personnel and the creation of a ceremonial flag are near the police department, complete with recognition bricks that will be available for purchase and will be personalized.
We welcome the involvement of others in our efforts of establishing a community-based organization created solely to support the police department and its members.
